Email Virus in attachment

I am receiving emails from family in Vietnam and the attachments have a virus.  Norton does not recognize the virus, but I am reasonably sure it is a virus.

They (my family) send me jpg files and when I click scan and download in my yahoo mail it gives a message saying the file is safe, but when I click download it starts downloading a zip file.  My friends are not sending me a Zip file.  I stop the download to protect my self.  I can right click the file and download the jpg without the virus.  Using Yahoos tool for downloading is where I see the virus (zip file)

I allowed my family in Vietnam to down load a copy of my Norton I purchased (you get 3 downloads for 3 PC's) and it seemed to fix the problem, but today I received a new email with an attachment that had the same zip file problem I described.

How do I fix this problem for my family in Vietnam.  They need to be able to scan and find the virus and eliminate it.  Since they are most likely receiving on going emails that have the ability to re-infect their PC's, I need an application that will recognize this virus for what is is and block it.   Does anyone have any ideas?

I can send an email example of the file in question if you want to receive the file for examination, or I can send you a screen capture of the zip file attemting to download.  What ever you think is appropriate.

Thanks for your help
