Email virus running, changing: titles, time sent, date sent. - on Android

Sprint HTC EVO.

I have what appears to be a virus running on my EVO.  It manifests itself in the email client that is shipped standard on the phone.

I am using the phone to give me a view of my standard email address that I use for everything.  My home system, using outlook traps and isolates the emails.  I have never seem the symptoms that follow on that machine when the same email is downloaded to it.

I currently have received 14 individual emails from the same source both at home and on my EVO.  On the EVO I can watch the title, time and date change.  This is why I believe this is actually "running".  Current titles appearing include "Pet Meds", "John Cummuta", "Learn Today", Avandia And Byetta Lawyers", Gevalia Offer" Orvhardbankcreditcardwebdeals", "YoshiBlade", "Premium Offers", Printer Inks" and more.

On the EVO when I open the default email client (no help or manufacturer info) it opens to a list of emails in chronological order.  When viewing this list I watch the emails change time, date and tittles.  This causes them to jump all over the screen as they insert themselves in the list in chronological order.  While this is amusing, I am concerned that if they can run code in the email client its not a big jump to run code on the operating system or other applications.  Perhaps this is transmitting information or my cell phone is acting as a sleeper or clone.

The source seems to be in Romania.  The individual owns about a hundred thousand IP addresses.  He appears to be bouncing them in India and China before delivery.

Any assistance I can provide I will do so willingly.  Any help you may offer will be greatly appreciated.
