Is there a way to disable Nis 2011 firewall and enable the windows 7 firewall. Reason is that I’m trying to run the QVPN to connect on a cisco vpn router and have been unsuccessful. One of the solution given by cisco was to make sure windows7 firewall is enabled and other 3rd party firewall disabled. It has something to do about IPsec setting on the windows7 firewall. I can disable Nis firewall but unable to run the win7 firewall as it is being manage by Nis.
anyone...

Welcome,
Sorry, I use a different VPN setup with W7 and NIS2012 and so far no problems that can't be traced back to the chair keyboard interface
Hi dondon4114,
Welcome to the Norton Community.
What version of NIS do you have? You can find this from Support > About.
It should not be necessary to disable NIS's firewall - it is usually good at determining which programs have a valid need to access the Internet.
Have you tried temporariliy disabling the NIS firewall just to see if your VPN conneciton works? If it does not work by doing that, then the NIS firewall is not the cause.
If temporarilly disabling the NIS firewall does allow your VPN client to connect, then go to NIS settings > Network > Smart Firewall and click Configure next to Program Control. Find the executable of your VPN software and then change from AUTO to ALLOW and see if this resolves your issue.
Please let us know how it goes.
Best wishes.
