Encrypted IM's?

Hello, there is a problem when I try to read my daughter's instant messages, they all seem to be encrypted.  The Instant Messaging Source is Google Talk and Oovoo.  She has a new laptop, which uses Windows 7.  Is there any way to fix this?  I've looked at Oovoo, but there is no encryption setting.
