Norton 360 v5 lost my access to backing up online so I gave in and reinstalled v6. It expires in 20 days. Yesterday it said I had 24 days so I don't know what that's all about.
Now I get an endless loop of entering my email address and then my password, then it goes back to prompting for my email address again. I did it twice and after the third time I closed it.
Version 6 also killed my internet connection after installing it. I had to reboot twice to get it back. So obviously this is a Version 6 problem.
If there is a fix already, can someone point me to it. I didn't want to sift through many messages to find it.
I didn't have Norton 360 Version 6 delete my data files when I uninstalled it the first time because I was afraid it would wipe out my Identity Protection file like Version 5 did once before. I figured I could just go in and delete the data files manually. That's probably why I was getting the endless requests for my email/password.
Since I reinstalled version 6, I had to restore my entire system because it killed my internet connection. I'm back to using Version 5 right now until my subscription runs out. I haven't decided if it's worth the hassle to upgrade since this version seems to have too many issues. I may either go with another Norton product or a competitor.
BTW: My days left on this subscription seem to be counting down quickly within two days. It went from 24 to 19 since yesterday. What's up with that? Does it have anything to do with installing v6 since then uninstalling it? I may let it lapse altogether and get something better and cheaper.
I gave up on Norton 360 v6 and purchased Norton Internet Security 2012 instead. It runs a lot smoother and doesn't keep disconnecting me from the internet like 360 did. Thanks for your assistance.
You're not running Microsoft Security Essentials alongside Norton are you? That combination is known to cause connectivity problems, especially with Norton 360. If you are running MSE, you should uninstall it if you are using any other antivirus, such as Norton.
