Error 3048,3

I got this error a couple of times. I may have followed the instructions incorrectly since I clicked on Run rather than Save. Please help me with a couple of questions:

I have Norton 360 Premier V6 running on Windows 7 64 bit. I clicked on the first option of the two 64 bit links. Is that correct?

Does it make a difference that I used Run instead of Save? When I click Save I do not see anything about the Desktop, the Save options are "Save, Save As or Run & Save" which one should I use?

What do I do after I Save it?

Thank you,

Ana

You should have clicked on the 4th option: Norton 360 version 2.0/3.0/4.0/5.0/6.0 for 64-bit OS only as you are running N 360 version 6.

You can also try upgrading your Norton 360 Premier to the latest version. You can download the latest version on this link:

http://www.norton.com/dm360p

The upgrade is totally free plus you can have Norton 360 Premier to its latest version which is 2013.

Thank you for your advice. Just for clarification, I clicked on the 1st option for the 64 bit system because it is the one that shows the 360 version 6 which is what I have (just updted it yesterday to the latest 360 Premier). The second 64 bit option shows only the 2007 and 360 version 1. Please clarify if I was wrong. In any event it did not worked so I repeated averything today including the Norton Eraser. It found nothing wrong. I do not know if I will get the error again. Any further recommendation. Thank you, AG

Hi AG,

OK - I am with you now, and you did in fact select the correct one.

You said:  "I do not know if I will get the error again"  Are you saying you are no longer receiving the error?   If so, please try running LIveUpdate (rebooting when requested) until it responds "no updates found".

Let us know if the error returns.

I received this error only about 3 times since I first posted it. It was not constant; I will need to wait to see if it happens again. I have downloaded the live updates manually with no problem. I got confirmation that they were all installed. Thank you, AG

I continue to get this message about once or twice a month. I got one this morning and again followed the instructions. It told me that I have the latest version again. Why is this happening? I do not know if this can be related to another problem that I have of having multiple internet explorer windows opening simultaneoulsy. When this happens I have to shut down the computer. These issues are popping up only in my Windows 7 computer, no problem with Vista.

Is there any way to solve this issue. I have already done the Manuel Live updates, etc.

THank you, Ana

Hi Ana,

Please verify your system clock is running accurately - as far as time, date and time zone goes.  I doubt it, but it may be losing time over a period of time.

Live Update files Corruption can also cause this = Remove the Contents of C:\ProgramData\ Norton\[ID of the point product (eg : folder starting with {0C55C096}0] \Norton product_version\Lue\Downloads - restart your system and run LiveUpdate.
