I was working in Quickbooks when Norton notified me of this error, saying it couldn't fix a problem. I went to the web page suggested and downloaded "Intelligent Updater" to fix problem. But after install application downloaded I viewed the properties and it said file came from another computer and was blocked because it may cause harm to my compuiter. I'm new to all this so I don't know if all applications come from somebody else's computer. That remark makes me think application is from another user's computer. Is it safe to run this "intelligent Updater'? Further instructions said to download Norton eraser. I am on Norton 360 Premier and Qucik Books Pro 2011. Thank You

What should I do?
Welcome,
Sounds like the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool might be a good next step
be sure to run live update after rebooting. Then reboot again
Keep us posted
Thank you for your quick reply. After I received the error message, I immediately updated my Norton virus definitions and didn't have any problem with my updates. I was working in QuickBooks when I got the error message, and my question is about using the "intelligent Updater" I downloaded because after download I looked at the 'properties' window for file and it said application is from another computer and is blocked because it could cause harm to my computer. Is that what you mean about server problems. It took 2 hours to download this file, are you saying download it again?
The intelligent updater is a way to bring your virus definitions back in line if there is a problem downloading the regular definitions with LiveUpdate. If you have run LiveUpdate with no errors you do not need to use that file anyway.
Just keep an eye on your system. If you see errors again just post back here and we will help from there.
Just be sure you restart your computer to make sure things are all lined up correctly on your system.
