Error 45056 on install

Issue abstract: New laptop which seems to have copied some Norton stuff over. Trying to install Ultimate but it says operating system not supported (Win 11!). Tried to uninstall and reinstall but Norton Security won’t budge, How do I get a clean copy on the laptop? When I run installer it says Error 45056 and won’t do it
Many thanks for any help as the support pages only have weird refs to 2009. If they’re going to post an error code, the decent thing would be to leave a clue what I’m meant to do about it!

Maybe your new laptop has Windows 11 in S Mode. See this thread for information. Adding protection to m device

If you are not running Windows 11 S mode. Did you try removing Norton using the Norton Removal Tool? If not follow this guide. When you get to step #5 perform a “removal only” using advanced settings which will be shown on your dialog.

  • To only remove your Norton device security product, click Advanced Options and then click Remove Only.
