I have a 3 User License for NIS 2012 on a PC (Windows XP SP3), a Netbook (Windows 7 Starter) and a Laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium - 64bit).
I have had no problems with either the PC or the Netbook but occasionally get the 8504.100 error Message on my Laptop. I have previously used the Morton removal Tool to uninstall it and then reinstall it from a downloaded file from the Symantec site - I found this solution on this forum and also on the Symantec website.
Despite this I am still occasionally getting this error message but, if ignored, it doesn't appear to be affecting the functioning of NIS 2012 as it still updates correctly via Live Update and shows no sign of an error.
Has anyone any suggestions as to what might be the cause of this apparently false error message?
