I have been having a problem with Norton disappearing every two to three days for about a month and a half now. When I restart it manually, usually about the third or fourth time it realizes there's an error and autofixes it. The error on the autofix success window is 8504 104. But the same thing happens again about two to three days later.
I've tried the solution suggested by Symantec - uninstalling separately, reinstalling, and updating my video driver. But the same thing happens again about two to three days later.
I've tried to use the online chat who, while trying to be helpful, didn't have the correct account information, couldn't see my product history, and did... well, exactly what I did. Without success ... twice.
My licence is due for renewal in less than a month.I keep getting reminded of this, and error messages saying my credit card is expired. When I look at my account information, it shows previous information from years ago with a card that expired in 2014.
Is Symantec/Norton broken?
Have they been hacked?
Do I have a virus that has beaten Norton?
Have they been taken over by someone else who doesn't understand what is required/customer service?
Why should I renew? Right now, I'm thinking, probably not...
