I am continiously getting this error 8504,104.
from last 15 days i am facing this type of problem.
i have uninstalled and installed norton product several times.

My computer hangs frequently,though I have installed norton 360 latest version, showing error 8504,104. Solve
the issue. Further whether I have to use or deleat windows defender provided by Microsoft.

I was really wondering more of what type of error it was since I have read a little here and have not seen any posts about it or anyone else encountering such an error.

I would agree with you and I'm sure there are a few bald technicians who wlso wish that. The error message is not specific to a single, simple error so it isn't always the same one that produces the message. Finding and fixing random errors that only happen sometimes is very difficult.

I went to run a Quick Scan on my PC last night before shutting down and it would not respond The icon in my taskbar for Norton then dissappeared. I tried to click on the shortcut on my desktop to get Norton to run and it would not do anything.It was completely frozen. Then. I right clicked on the shortcut to open the program and got an error messgae saying I encountered an error with these numbers:8504, 104.
I was able to start an online support session and followed the directions and the problem was solved by following Step 1 in the directions... simply restarting my PC.
I am wondering what kind of error was this and what caused it to happen? I have had Norton for all of the 3 years I have had a PC and this has never happened.
Kinda scared me when everything dissappeared and I couldn't get the program to run.

I keep getting alert Error 8504,104 when I log on. I have downloaded and run the Norton Power Eraser Tool as instructed several times and on completion of the scan the result is always a green tick with `No Risks Found`.
However I am still unable to open the Norton main window for Live Update and the error alert re-appears.
My laptop is running good and as normal and I can use all my other programmes.
My laptop is a Samsung 64-bit with Windows 7 Home Premium.
I would appreciate a solution to this problem please, thank you.
No it does not uninstall. I tried to uninstall but it doesn’t. And Internet exploral does not load any page.
