Error 8505,129

Keep getting this error messege when trying to register my pre-installed 2 month trial version of Norton anti-virus. "No response received from Symantec server", Norton tries to fix it, it appears to be doing so, but, alas, it does not.

Hi,

Looks like I smashed the two error codes together.

8504, 104

@Hammer_Bro: Is 8404 a typo?

1. 8505,129

If you continue to receive this error, you need to check your Network proxy settings

some installed app could have the ability to change the default Network proxy settings in Windows.

2. 8504,101

This error can happen due to many reasons including threat infection.

3. 8504,100... I have no wordsblush

Thx...

Recently, I encountered a Norton error code due to the fact that I was "manually attempting to update" Norton, meanwhile, after looking into it, it was explained that, "you do not have to manually update Norton, Norton will update itself."  I realize Norton will auto-update, I think I was just trying to test something at that point.

I believe I encountered an 8404 years ago, Norton autofix did not seem to remedy it, I believe I might have had to do a clean uninstall/ re-install at that time.  One thing is certain.  These types of persistent errors with Norton can be beyond annoying.  Perhaps there should be a more authoritative autofixer moving forward?

Here's the KB for that error code.
