Just started a new message on this...problems started with Error 8506, 422, now getting blue screens. Deleting Internet Security 2012 solves all issues, but this is not the way I want to run my Win XP computer. Still looking for a resolution before I permanently remove Norton and switch to another brand of software for protection.
I did NOT want to start a new thread. So here is my story.
I have 2 systems with NIS2012 and WINXP Pro. All was OK. Yesterday, 10/26/2012, I got the 8506,422 message. It said to reboot and all was OK. My wife turned her system on and after a few minutes she got the same message. She rebooted and all was OK. She later went to my system and I got the message again.
Today my system is OK and hers is still turned off until later.
We did nothing to these TWO systems, except for the new defs being d/l. So, I am convinced that it has nothing to do with our two systems but perhaps the Norton Update Servers.
I hope this will go away on its own.
