Error code 3040, 20008

I tried to run a Live Update and Full System Scan on my desktop and for some reason Norton 360 could not check for updates and failed. So after the Live Update Norton initiated the Full System Scan which also instantly failed at which point I then received a pop up from Norton giving me this error code. The autofix tried to restart the desktop but it froze several times on startup. I actually had to take the desktop apart and put it back in order for it to start and when it did the backup feature was disabled along with the smart firewall, intrusion prevention on all browsers, SONAR scans, and network protection.

Any thoughts on what might cause this?

Thanks!

Hello intesec

Yes at first I did click manually to get the Live Updates and when that failed I also did click to start a Full System Scan.

When I say that I took the desktop apart I just disconnected everything to reset the CPU.

I probably should have said this in an earlier post but when autofix ran initially it did return with two issues.

Error: 3040, 20008

Repair: Installation - Restart Required

Repair: Live Update - Restart Required

I ran autofix manually and as of now Norton 360 is telling me that there are no more issues. The updates are also working again so I guess I will run a Quick Scan, Full System Scan, and NPE just to check behind everything.
