Here is this update when i uninstalled Malwarebytes and ran utilities 16 all my Norton problems went away.I so liked Mbytes, but it caused me to have to do a restore to 1/17/14 and uninstall it to get my NIS back working properly, and it was the free version too. So no more error codes and i can access everything again.

It may be coincidence that removing MBAM seems to have fixed things. I run the same combination of NIS V21, NU 16 and MBAM free. The only difference is I am using Win 7, but I am not seeing any errors.
You might try reinstalling MBAM free the next time you want to do a scan and see if your Norton acts up again.
Hi yecart,
Glad to hear you got it sorted out. although you stated you used the Free version of MBAM, did you by chance accept the offer of the trial version? If so it will place MBAM Free in a real-time mode ad could cause conflict. If you reload MBAM please use the free version and do not accept the trial.
I really do like Mbytes it looked and ran different things then NIS.NIS is a good program too, and i read where Mbytes is actually written to work with other anti-virus programs and not a stand alone operation. Anyway I like it.
Hi, yecart. SuperantiSpyware Free does a similar job to M/Bytes, but has been known to throw up the odd false positive.
If it does, you can easily submit it fo evaluation.
I run it and MBytes Free, and have had no conflicts.
