Error During Scan

Every time I try to run a quick scan or a full scan, it says "Error During Scan" without scanning anything. I've tried it in both normal and safe mode. I am not connected to the internet as I am not sure if there is a network virus on that computer.

Thank you for your help.

I fixed the problem. I killed the Norton process using Task Manager & rebooted. When I checked the status of the last Quick Scan on 5/10 is now said "Completed".  My e-mail downloaded is working again and I was able to kick off a new Quick Scan. Not sure what caused the process to get hung in the 1st place but at least I'm operational again.

Hi. It seems that it has fixed itself. Usually, a restart will bring things back to normal.

Any issues in the future, you might want to use the Remove option to give you a complete uninstall, and then download a preactivated copy from your Norton Account, run Live Update until no more are found, and then restart.

Hopefully, that won't be necessary.

Hi,

I just did an live update on NS and that failed due to some driver issues. Norton stated that I needed to reboot my system. I rebooted then reran live update again and Norton showed that NS was up to date. I then reran a scan without any issues. It now shows the green/white check mark on the NS icon in the task bar. So it appears that it was able to correct itself with minor assistance from me.

Thanks

Sorry about my delayed response.

Just ran the removal and reinstall tool. Got this error message..."An unrecoverable error has occurred. Click HERE for....." I've attached a pdf of the screen shot for this error message. Now what do I do? I was trying to find instruction on how to Remove and Reinstall Manually. But can't find any instructions for that. Please help.

Hi. Try the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool, which will give you a fresh installation.

If used, please read the Before you begin note, run Live Update after the reinstall until no more are found, and then RESTART.

Let us know how you go.
