Error EA3902DC on Ghost restore

I’ve got an older XP laptop that was experiencing some problems so I’m attempting to restore a Ghost backup to a new drive. The error message the end of the restore option was “Attempt to handle too many NTFS attributes”.

Here are the details:

Norton Ghost 9 was installed on the laptop, and runs a backup job at night to create a image onto a USB drive (seagate, 2TB). This drive is the source of the backup image during the restore.

The original HD was 320GB, while the new drive, fresh out of the box and unformatted, is 500GB.

The options selected for the system restore were:

Verify before restore
Check for file errors after
Fill unallocated space
Bootable
Primary partition
Restore signature
Restore MBR

The files seemed like they were there but the PC wouldn’t boot to the drive.

Amy ideas?
