Is this a known bug in Ghost 12?  It's happening on a Vista system that was upgraded from Vista Business to Vista Ultimate.  In the future, I'll run chkdsk /f before imaging.

Another problem I always get with restores of Vista images with Ghost 12 is it tells me that 'Windows didn't shutdown correctly and whether I want to Safe Boot or Boot Normally' on the first boot of the restored image.  Why does this occur?

Regards.

Not this is not a bug.  One thing doesn't have to have happened due to the other.  What's happening is that there is data on a sector that Ghost cannot properly handle.  This is to prevent corruption in the image that is created.

I'm trying to restore a Ghost 12 image of a Vista Ultimate SP1 disk.  During the file system check at the end of the restore, I get the following message:

Error: EA390601 File number greater than 4 billion

Would appreciate any help in resolving this error.  Creation of the image went without any problems.

Regards.

Try running CHKDSK /F on the drive in question.  That should remove that error.
