I'm trying to reload ghost software disk on a drive that was formatted and XP loaded back on it. The error is " 2753.vProSvc.exe". What should I do?
I'm not quite sure but it looks like a services error, open Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) and open the Services tab and the Norton service should be running, if not click on "Services" and start the Norton Ghost service.
RedK may well be on line shortly and maybe he can help,I am not too sure how to deal with that error properly.
What you could do is use one of the recovery points on your D: drive to reimage, this was one of the points I was trying to make yesterday about computer backups, if I get an error like that I just select a earlier recovery point and re-image the pc, if you only have one drive it can be done in minutes.
There are many Ghost users out there that get confused with "Drive Copy" and "Backups", a backup will copy everything on the C: drive including all Apps/programmes and data to a "Recovery Point" on another drive.
That RC can then be used to "Recover" the computer (C:) drive and all that is on it,a backup.
Copy Drive is a complete "Clone" of the existing drive to enable you to replace the original in case of complete failure, but it is Not used to backup the pc.

I get the error trying to load the ghost software CD. I went online and got a tool to wipe ghost of the C drive so I can get a fresh software load but I still get the error when I try again.
I assume I have to have ghost 10.0 installed on the c drive before I can recover my backup points of the D drive.

No, you could recover from the Recovery Disc. If you just want to recover a few files or folders, you can just use Recovery Point Browser. You can find it and run it from the CD by looking at... [CD DRIVE]\I386\SHELL\V2I\V2IBROWSER.EXE.

So you have ran the Norton Removal Tool? Sometimes you have to reboot and run it twice. Do you have a recent image (Recovery Point of your C: drive when Ghost was working correctly? Why not restore it?
There is nothing on the C drive except windows XP. Not even Ghost software
The recovery points Red is refering to will be on your D:drive.

I just cliced on something that started a recovery so standby and I will reply later. By the way, How do I reply to one individual (so and so wrote). I'm new to this forum.
Just copy and paste the line he wrote and use the line by the funny face to block it top and bottom, like this

Thanks to all that responded. I used the Ghost CD in the CD tray and recovered that way. I have yet determined if I can reload Ghost from the CD to C drive.
Well done,
When you boot up you should see Ghost in the system tray/task bar, bottom right because if you have re-imaged properly Ghost was installed on C: and it will be there.
Only Ghost 15 enables a "Cold image" where you don't have to install Ghost to run a backup.
I suggest that as soon as time permits run a backup onto D: drive or preferable onto an external drive to ensure you have an updated recovery point (Backup), make a folder like I posted earlier to direct the RP into.
