Please help.
I cannot boot my pc. As far as I can tell the following are my ONLY three options and each of them hits a dead end.
1) Try to start up as usual and receive the <error message 118> about GoBack being in the middle of recovery on disk #1 -- with no way forward (the message itself appears to simply be a screen image -- no input is accepted at this point - no amount of space bar -- or any other key stroke does anything).
2) Select <F2> during initial boot and get to the SETUP screens -- where, at least I can select my CD/DVD drive as the first to boot from for the following option -- but not much else (as far as I can sort out, at least).
3) Boot from the CD with Ngbboot.iso as suggested here:
http://service1.symantec.com/Support/goback.nsf/docid/2005111514174058
where I get to a menu of options -- the first of which is <1. To unhook GoBack (for typical machines)> and the cursor blinking under the 1 in <Enter a choice: 1> -- BUT NO WAY TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE DEVICE. That is, the keyboard strokes are simply not registered (a Logitech USB keyboard that works fine for option 2). Is there some other way to make a selection on this screen?
What's left? I have lots of work on this machine and do not like any options that involve losing the data now stored on it and nowhere else. Is there some way to bypass GoBack in booting up that doesn't involve a "clean install"?
