I see by looking in the forums that I am not the only person who has been getting an error message 3043,1
All I wanted to do was use Window's system restore and after several attempts with no success I found out looking on line at MSN's help that I had to disable NIS. After a successful restore I started getting warnings that NIS was at risk even after I followed instructions on Norton's web site as to how to disable and re-start NIS. I consider myself a novice, I think of a computer as a piece of equipment and like driving a car I expect to be able to jump in it and drive without tinkering on the engine. Seems to me this problem and the number of people having it leads me to believe that this is a manufacturers issue that should have been resolved by now. I shouldn't have to go to the trouble of trying to find my CD copy and uninstall and reinstall a program since not having done this before makes me leary that this might just lead to more problems.
Anyone at Norton like to comment?
Respectfully, Charles G.
