Hi,
please try this:
1. Download the full update package from here:http://www.symantec.com/business/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=n95 and download the right version for your PC:
- yyyymmdd-ver-v5i32.exe for 32-bit machines
- yyyymmdd-ver-v5i64.exe for 64-bit machines
2. Install the downloaded package
3. Run Live Update manually
Does the problem go away?
No, it wouldn't download properly. It said the files were corrupt... which, come to think of it, is a problem I've been having a lot lately.
Can you please download the file(s) with a download manager?
Like this one: http://www.speedbit.com/downloads/
With download managers you can continue (most of the times) broken downloads as well.
It still said the files were corrupt, even when using Speedbit
Can you try the steps in the following support article:
http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20101108141329EN
Please try the instructions from the Symantec KB:

Are you sure?
They suggest uninstalling Norton, but first downloading the installation files so that it can be re-installed. But I can't download the installation files, because they are always corrupted.
Just so you are aware, when I downloaded IE9 and the latest iTunes and iPhone software, those files were also "corrupted".
