There is this error message - “This product has expired and can no longer be used” - that keeps popping up that is making me consider not renewing my use of your product for a 3rd year. I had complained about it a month plus ago and actual what was done then only held for I think less than 2 weeks. I had hoped that just as it suddenly started 4 moths ago it will also suddenly go away, but sadly it has not. I had never experienced something like this before I have used 4 Antivirus software inclusive of Norton, both at home and at work, even during my 1st disastrous episode of using your product. An effect of the problem is that the my software is always out of sync with your Servers evidenced by the fact that I do have to manually run Liveupdate to keep it correctly updated. Apart from the fact that this issue seriously erodes my confidence in the performance of the product I also do not think Norton have a clue as to what is causing the problem.
Hi ÕĤIO,
Welcome to the Norton Community. Also make sure that your Windows is configured to automatically synchronize time periodically with a known time source.
Please see this link.
Best wishes.

OHIO,
Could you please fill in some background for us:
To get you the best advice, would you give us some more information about your system:
What version of Windows are you using including Service Packs and whether 32 bit or 64 bit as well as the Name and Version ID of the Norton product that you are using -- Help or Support / About is where that is, in the format of nn.nn.nn.nnn
If you have the COMCAST version of Norton 360 / Security Suite and not the normal commercial version please be sure to tell us.
If you get any error messages please give the exact wording of them as well as any other background that could be helpful.
Also just to avoid the obvious -- do you still have a valid subscription for the product with at least some days left to run? The reason I ask this is that Norton has changed, like many other security programs, over onto what is often called a Subscription Scheme where it runs for a specified period of time according to the licence you buy -- say one year -- and unlike many years ago when that time runs out the product does completely stop working. It no longer continues but with frozen updates like some products did or do.
The reason for this is the danger to the user of continuing to run with outofdate security since it no longer depends just on definitions but on continual updates to various methods of detection. This is an expensive operation to keep uptodate and none of us could afford to pay a lump sum for the protection!
So if you cold just give us the background we can focus on what needs to be done to sort things out ....

Hi ÕĤIO,
If you are using IE 9 please turn Compatibility mode ON so that we can see your post. The Norton Community forum is not yet able to work with IE 9 in Native mode.
To configure the Norton Community to Compatibility mode "permanently", please click Alt on your keyboard, then go to Tools > Compatibility View Settings and click Add.
Best wishes.
