Error message when trying to install Norton Internet Security

I just downloaded a new version of the Norton Internet Security for 3 pc's.  I was able to successfully install it on my laptop but I cannot get it to install on my desktop.  I get an error message everytime.  It simply says "an error occurred with the downloaded files."  And it tells me to retry the download.  But it never works.  What is going on?

I'm not sure either.  An old version of Norton 360 was on my computer but it's been removed.

try running NRT and ten reinstall norton..

www.norton.com/nrt

restart and then reinstall.

Hi xraychick1,

 

Let's try this.  Go to ControlPanel Programs and Features (for Vista/Win7) or Add/Remvoe Programs (for XP) and see if N 360 is still listed under installed  programs.  If so uninsatll it and reboot.

 

Regardless if N 360 is listed or not, download and run Norton Remvoal Tool and reboot after it completes.

 

After that download and install NIS from the link that dickevans supplied in his post.
