How do I get Nortons updater to NOT leave my computer unprotected when I am using the computer, forcing me to restart my computer due to this stupid message (see picture) that says that if I don't restart I am vulnerable!?!
Should Norton 360 not see that I am using the computer and wait or at least warn me and let me choose what to do before it forces me to do this update? I have tried to get an answer from the support many times now, but cannot get an answer.
This problem started after I installed Win11, it never happened before.
Thank you for your reply, I checked the "Apply Updates Only On Reboot" to On. So I see if that don't make that screen pop up again. :-)
Hello. Windows 11 has a slightly different security structure than Windows 10, which doesn't allow even A/V solutions to have full access to the core components of the OS. A restart is required to ensure that Norton correctly functions as a result. The core protection of Norton is still in full effect, updating of definitions and other components to compliment new and emerging threats is where the restart is required. Conversely. If you have automatic live updates enabled that is reason Norton is getting updates during usage. Settings for applying updates ONLY ON REBOOT can be disabled, this will force the updates to apply, with the exception of NGC or product version patches. Hope this helps.
