Error msg: Cannot successfully reconcile changes since last backup - how to resolve?

I receive the following error msg with Ghost 14, running on XP Pro SP3 on a Dell with Pentium 4 3.06 GHz and 2.5 GB of RAM: "Cannot successfully reconcile changes since last backup".  I recently deleted some partitions but not ones that were being backed up.  I also increased the size of the paging file partition, but again, it was not being backed up.  The Norton Ghost help file does not address this issue, nor does the error message site on Norton's website.  I don't see this problem covered on this forum, either.

When I look at run/manage backups in Ghost, it lists the correct drives/partitions that I want to back up.   However, when I try to define a new backup, Ghost only sees one hard drive, and not the second one (both contain partitions that are to be backed up).  It was the second HD where I deleted partitions.  The backup schedule also shows only the partitions from the first HD, and does not see the second HD.

Also, on the Advanced tab of Ghost, under Drives, all drives/partitions are listed for both the HDs.  However, the second HD has a question mark in front of each partition.  This also seems to be part of the problem.  What does the questionmark mean, and how can I change it to the correct green circles with a check mark.  All partitions on both drives are set to provide full status reporting.

So the problem seems to be that Ghost no longer sees the second HD.  Why not?  And how can this be fixed?  Welcome all suggestions. Thanks.
