i keep getting this error when I try to change Web Site Settings

 

like when I try to save after addeing or delting website...

 

Same  error even after i use other browsers to change

I'm getting the same error as well.  Any setting changes that I make do not save.  What is the solution?

How many sites do you have specifically blocked and unblocked?  I am getting the same error and for me at least, I have narrowed it down to the system now only allowing a total of 99 sites to be blocked/unblocked (added together only 99, not 99 each).  I have had to unblock the "Uncategorized" category for the time being to get around this.  I posted a message several days back about this and included a screenshot and have not gotten a reply.

 

It appears that Symantec is attempting to push users away from this product.  I am a software engineer myself and this is by far the worst support I have ever seen given for a product.  Frankly, I'm not sure how support can be this bad unless they are actually intentionally giving bad support.  Really sad as this had been a very good product.  I've had to retract my recommendations to a number of people (as a computer guy I get asked about this type of software a lot from other parents).

I am also having problems adding new websites to the "allowed" sites and receive "Error retrieving policy settings" when I do so.  How can I add more sites?

Hi All,

 

I haven't been able to reproduce the issue so far.  Could you click on the Norton Family icon in the system tray and select Update House Rules to see if the function works?

 

Also, have you try to uninstall/reinstall Norton Family to see if it helps?

The program currently limits the # of websites on the allowed or black list to 100. 

 

Please keep the # of websites under 100 for now.
