Error "You have entered an invalid path2 when selecting a network share for exclusion

I get a "You have entered an invalid path" messages when I try to select the following network share for exclusion:

 

\\Server\Backup

 

I found the a recommendation to map a drive name, but this is not suitable for me. My underlying problem is that Windows 7 backup to a network share fails, because NAV reports a Suspicious.Cloud.7.F error for several files of an software package that we are developing.
