What is an 8506,421 Error. Have received this several times. Have used removal tool and reinstalled twice. Still getting 8506,421 Error?
When scanning I got following error : -2147212542
Can Somebody help me

This error code relates to Live update. The article on the support site simply says to manually run Live Update until no more updates are offered, and I would add to reboot as required and once more when completely updated, just to be sure. Please let us know how you get on.

One thing to check is whether you have Windows Fast Startup enabled. If you do, you may not be getting the complete system shutdown required to fully update apps. Be sure you are using the Restart command. Not Shutdown and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here.
You can also open the classic interface and click on Help > Get Support on the right side of the window. That will check your Norton installation for any problems.
Did it resolve you connection issue?
I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I had to set up the app again. Worst part, I lost all my blocked numbers!
Have you restarted your device? And what device is it and what OS version?
Did you try removing the app data as I suggested?
If you did and that did not help, delete the app data again, then uninstall NMS. Restart your device and then reinstall NMS and see if you can sign in.
Not setting up for 1st time. Trying to reactivate… Has been installed 8 months …seeing error after trying to sign in . The Norton pc portal shows phone active, but the nms app shows differently
Without a little more information, it is hard to know what may need fixing.
Where exactly are you seeing this error? Is it while trying to activate a product feature? ie the Contact Backup, or Anti Theft features.
Have you just installed NMS on your device? Are you trying to sign into your Norton Account to activate the product?
You should only need to sign in once, as you are setting up the app for the first time.
Are you using a Wifi or Cell Data connection?
What device are you using and what OS version?
Looks like that possible solution does not work for EVERYTHING, but thanks anyway. I will just have to wait and see if there is a fix for it later. Thanks, D
What part of NMS are you trying to log into? A specific feature or the Norton Account to enable the full version?
Try going into the Norton Mobile Security, NMS app settings. Tap on the 3 bars at the top left of the NMS screen and tap on Settings. Scroll down to the Anti Theft section and turn off the Device Administrator setting. Now go to Android Settings - Apps. Scroll to the NMS app and clear the app cache and app Data. Restart the device and turn the Device Administrator setting back on. This will reset your NMS to a trial version. To get the full version back, open the NMS app, tap on the 3 bars at the top left, then tap Sign In. Enter your Norton Account information and you should have the full version again.
Then test to see if things work properly.
