I have an OLD version of DeployCenter (5.5) that has worked like a Champ until now. However, I just tried to copy my current
Hard Disk (which is a back up that I had to call onto service; usually, I just keep using the same Hard Disk and make back up
copies of the Disk but -- for the first time, I had to use the back up itself)....
When I tried to copy it, I recieved on the "main" partition a "1500" error of "Bad Boot signature" [or something very similar] and when I tried to get to my second ("data") partition, I received a "1507" error....
Now, I powered up Partition Magic and ran the "Check Errors" on each Partition and it came back "clean"... "No Errors".
I looked at the Disk using Windows "Local Disk Management" and it said "Healthy" for each partition... no problem booting up or getting to the data.
I tried CHKDSK /F on each partition and that also reported "no errors"...
Yet, I am unable to use DeployCenter to copy (Back up) my Hard Drive....
There was a posting by Symanted that stated CHKDSK / F would fix this error... well, it did not do so...
I was also told that WHENEVER you make a copy of a Hard Drive, you run the risk of the copy having that error -- and thus not being able to make a "copy of a copy".... I hope that is NOT true....
My questions:
a. What else, if anything, can I do? Or should I assume that there is a problem with DeployCenter? Given that Partition Magic reported "No Problem".... that is why I wonder if there is a bug in DeployCenter...
b. If there is a problem with DeployCenter, will GHOST work here? Should I look for any specific release of GHOST to use?
c. Has anyone else had this (or a similar) problem?
As I REALLY want to back up Drive, this is quite critical for me... Any comments / suggestion that are doable will be MOST appreciated!!
