Been a while since I have been around. Are all the ET logins gone? I can't figure out a way to access my old username.
Hi,
Thanks for spending your time helping me out. I was never active on these forums with either screen name. I must have created the Xoplex account here when it first switched. Back in the ET days the beta area was totally private, had it own private message boards. I had just noticed I have private messages from Tony, but his user id is gone. I guess all the years of testing back then is basically irrelevant here. So no reason to pursue this any further. Again thank you for your help.
Xoplex1:When the beta site use to be et.symantic.com My username and login name was xoplex this new site has me as xoplex1...
Hi Xoplex1:
As far as I know the entire symantec.com site ceased to exist after Broadcom purchased Symantec's enterprise division in November 2019 and the Norton home consumer division was re-branded as NortonLifeLock - see the CRN article Done Deal: $10.7 Billion Broadcom-Symantec Enterprise Acquisition Closes for more information. The Norton EAP (Early Adopter Program) site for beta testers is now located in this forum at https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton_EAP.
When I search this Norton forum I can see user account for both Xoplex (https://community.norton.com/en/users/xoplex, created April 2008, no posts) and Xoplex1 (https://community.norton.com/en/users/xoplex1, created February 2009, 2 posts). If you need help determining the current status of your old Xoplex account or want this old account deleted you should contact Norton Customer Support via Live Chat at https://www.norton.com/chat. In the mean time I'll ask the Forum Moderators to move your question to the Forum Feedback board where it might be seen by one of the Norton employees.
When the beta site use to be et.symantic.com My username and login name was xoplex this new site has me as xoplex1. When I tried to use xoplex it tells me username already taken. Don't know if it matters or not, but I was always accepted to beta (since the days of XP) and since the switch to this new site I haven't gotten in and didn't visit the site much since then. So I thought maybe if I had access to my old user it would have made a difference.
Hi Xoplex1:
What do you mean by an "ET" login, and do you recall the last time you were able to log in with your old username ?
Your user badge indicates you registered your username Xoplex1 in 2009 and this is your first post with that username in the forum. Norton decided to move to a "Single Sign-On" policy in 2015 when the software platform for the Norton forum was updated (see Tony_Weiss' 24-Jun-2015 thread Forum Login Linked with Norton Account Login in the Forum Feedback board) and users must now use the same email address and password to log in to both their forum account and Norton Account.
Read scenarios #1, 2 and 3 of Tony_Weiss' thread and see if your old username falls into any of those scenarios, since things can get especially complicated if the email address you used for your old username does not match the email address you use for your Norton Account (Scenario #2). At the end of the day you might want to leave things as they are and simply log in to the forum with the email address and password that matches your Norton Account.
