On random Excel files located on my computer, when I attempt to open an Excel file, Excel will show "not responding" in the header and on the Excel status line it says "scanning the file for viruses". After about an hour I kill the Excel process. After turning off the "Microsoft Office Automatic Scan" setting in 360 everything seems OK now with Excel. Is this a 360 problem??

Have you made sure to run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available?
Try clicking on Support - Get Support to run Autofix to check your installation and fix what it finds.
Even with the Office scan turned off, you will still be protected by the Autoprotect function of 360.
