Good day. I am new to the forum. I could not find any specific rules wrt posting, so kindly alert me to any mistakes in posting queries. I am requesting help with the following:
I am running Norton 360 on a Sony VAIO laptop. My browser is the current version of Firefox (39.0). About one month ago, I started seeing messages that started with "The exception cannot continue". There would be a bunch of numbers after that and then a statement to the effect "Click to terminate". Before I could even read the entire message or write down the numbers in the message, my computer would immediately shut off. This became more frequent, so I contacted Norton Support. They ran Norton Power Eraser for me and found no viruses.
One month later, it is happening again. Now, I barely have time to even view the message when my computer immediately shuts down. Upon rebooting, I run Norton 360. Sometimes, an error will be found and the problem is corrected. This past week, the "exception" message is now occurring daily. What is an "exception"? What can I do on my end to stop this from happening?
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration of the above. I'm not a total airhead when it comes to computers, but when it comes to things like this, I am a novice.
