Welcome,

Can we have a few more details please? Operating system, previously installed security program and how it was uninstalled before installing 360, is your email web based or are you using an email program and which one if you do?

As for removing 360 that can be done with the Norton Removal Tool found here:

http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=kb20080710133834EN_EndUserProfile_en_us

I really hope that you don't uninstall and get something else that isn't quite as good.

I use Microsoft XP SP3 and I was using Norton. My subcription ran out so I renewed the program. 360 was my selection for renewal. All the changes were transparent to me as Norton gave me the download. I use Outlook for my email.

To be quite clear, was it N360 v 4 that you had on the machine before?

Was it actually expired when you installed v 5?

Did you install it over top of v 4 and then enter the key, or did you renew the previous version and then upgrade to the new version?

I am pretty sure I did not have 360 v.4. The only copy of a Norton I have is Antivirus 2008. it has been renewed every year. Subscription had not expired when I renewed and went to 360 v.5 (that was a mistake).

The reCAPTCHA words are next to impossible to enter. I am over 15 times now and I still haven't posted this reply.

Lowery,

Please provide the following information so that we can help you further:

1. Which email client you use to access the emails- Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird or any other?

2. Do you have Norton AntiSpam toolbar enabled in your email client?

3. Are you facing the problem of spam emails in your Web based email system like yahoomail or googlemail(gmail) ?

4. You can confirm the version of your Norton product by going to Help & Support > About in your Norton product.

Thanks,

HarryP

Hi lowrey:

Norton products do not install well over top of older incompatible products.  I believe that you will need to uninstall the 2008 product, if it still shows in add/remove, and then uninstall N360 as well through add/remove.

You will need to run the Norton Removal Tool a couple of times with a reboot after each one, and then reinstall whichever version of N360 you chose, either s for standard or p for premium.  If you purchased a different product such as Gold version or other, let us know.

www.norton.com/n360p_5

Then you will need to properly configure the spam component for your email client.

My system only shows 360 installed. If I remove 360 how can it be re-installed without Norton wanting a payment again?

Now I got to fight this reCAPTCHA again. Something needs to be done about this.

Hi,

1.You can reinstall  with same key in same computer.

2.You can use N360 until you have valid subscription.

Thanks,

Senthil

I un-installed 360 v5 using the Norton program. I re-installed 360 v5. I was away from my system for 3 days and I had 22 emails in my spam folder. The re-install did nothing for me. I want to get rid of 360 v5 and revert to another Norton product. I cannot tolerate this excess spam that I have since 360 v5 was installed!

Once again, the reCAPTCHA words are almost impossible to read!!! Complaining via email does nothing!!!

Hi,

What email program are you using? If it is web based [gmail, hotmail, etc.] no Norton product will help you! The protection provided by Norton is for your system, not the servers that handle your email account. Using a program like Thunderbird [free] as a client on your system will put it behind your firewall [windows, Norton, or your new security program] which should block the spam.

I'm told that the CAPTCHA problem only lasts for about ten messages. If it gets to the point that you would rather have spam than visit so we can help you, say so and we can plead with the staff to solve that problem. It may require that you register.

Hope there's some help here. Let us know if we can do more

As I stated in my 2nd post, I use OUTLOOK for email. The problem never happened until I downloaded 360 v5. I had 11 more emails in my 'spam folder' this morning. I cleared the folder yesterday. I need to download a version that doesn't have the 'spam' feature.

Whatever has to be done to clear this problem with reCAPTCHA I'm all for!!!

I have been away from my computer for several days. I expected an answer to my last post by the time i returned. I have received nothing.

After returning I had 14 junk emails in my box.

Tell me how to correct this or refund my money and let me download a Norton program that doesn't have the anti-spam feature. This feature has created me nothing but problems.

Norton probably doesn't care as they make enough but I am ready to let my money for the renewal  go by the side and I will download a free site. Norton will have seen the last of my subscriptions. Again, Norton probably doesn't care!!!

I have placed email addresses on the blocked list as spam but I still receive their messages. what a bunch of crap this program has become!!!!!

Again I face this crap of reCAPTCHA

PS I am now trying my 8th time to get past reCAPTCHA, I have also gottem a new word more than 20!!!

PS I'm so sick of this crap with reCAPTCHA

PS I am now trying my 21th time to get past reCAPTCHA, new word requests are too many to count!!! Norton really doesn't want to hear from their customers!!!

PS I'm so sick of this crap with reCAPTCHA

I don't have all nite to do this, I will try again in the morning. It's now 10:52 PM CDT but Norton won't know unless they look at the timestamp of my complaints to the reCAPTCHA email. I doubt that is done!!

It's now 8;28AM, CDT and I will try again to enter the reCAPTCHA words.
