Exclude certain files from being scanned

I am trying to find a way to exclude certain folders from being scanned in Norton Internet Security for Mac. I have a folder with VM's, once the scanner hits the folder it STOPS. The only information I could find was on enterprise norton. If this can't be done on Norton Internet Security for Mac, is there another security product that does? I paid for this and it's frustrating. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

does Norton for Mac have 'question mark' links to Help documentation.

does Norton for Mac have 'Product Manual' link under Help.

https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v96047160

Found it:

  1. In the Norton product main window, click Advanced.
  2. On the left pane, click Protect My Mac.
  3. In the Automatic Scans row, click the settings icon.
  4. In the Automatic Scans window, click Don't scan these folders.
  5. Click +.

That settings tab does not exists on Mac, only for Windows.... =(

see if this makes sense for Mac
