Years ago, Kromtech's PCKeeper Antivirus bundled Amazon Browser Bar, MyPC Backup and Tinki Browser during its express install process.
See the old logo of PCKeeper?
Then, what's that Kromtech company?
Lookin' back...
PCKeeper Antivirus integrates the Avira's Secure Anti-Virus API (SAVAPI), the official interface for Avira’s anti-malware scanning engine. PCKeeper Antivirus does not block malware-hosting URL's or phishing URL's...
Then, what's this Essentware company?
Well, it's a long story: PCKeeper, Avira, "Fake Update", Kromtech, and MacKeeper.
Closing Words:
MacKeeper... I believe the underlying anti-virus engine is from Kaspersky. While there are a number of companies that provide this range of software, MacKeeper is charging $39 for its entire suite. If it can gain traction it could be disruptive to some of the major Internet security companies such as Symantec, McAfee and Trend Micro.
