There have been documented instances of where Norton blocks certain Facebook apps, from what I have read these are being picked up as instances of Intrusion Protection. Can you have a look in Settings>Virus & Spyware Protection>Quarantine and see if any instances of Intrusion Protection are listed with the app name. If they are there, you can add these to the File Exclusions list.
Alternately, try going to 'Threat Categories' in the same window, and untick all boxes, then try and run the app in Facebook again, and see if it is still blocked. If not, go back and tick the entries one by one and test, this way you can narrow down which one is setting off the alarm and blocking the facebook app/s, and leave it unchecked. This is going to leave you unprotected for any instances of these risks, so use with discretion.
You should report the exact apps or url's that are being blocked to Symantec False Positive Report, here and here, and they should fix it.

Up until recently, I have been able to access all applications on facebook, even those which advise that some have problems with Norton and to disable it if users want to use the applications, however, I cannot access 'Top friends' as when I do, I get the symantec error message as cut and pasted below...but when I turn off the 'phishing' on my Norton 360, I can access it. Why is it being picked up and shown as a 'fraudulent site' by my Norton now, when it wasn't before...why is Norton blocking it?

I assume you may need an account. Given the increasing amount of false blockages, perhaps it is worth Norton registering an investigative account with the site. This would perhaps be mutually beneficial as Norton/Symantec could iron out any false activations and people would not continue to leave Facebbok as a result of these. I will try the alternative solutions also given and see if this rectifies the situation. Thanks.

I think it is caused by one of the advertisers since it seemed random to me when it came up.

Strange that, I have tested several reported phishing sites that were subsequently blocked by N360 Phishing Protection, and I don't think they are meant to, and didn't, show up in Quarantine, but anyway..
The Facebook application called "Top Friends" was found to be allowing a "peephole" into the private information of the networks of those who were using it. There was a CNET article about it back in June and Facebook had banned it. Is there something newer about the risk? I'm an avid user of Facebook but somewhat afraid of the 3rd party applications because of stories like this. My daughter's Facebook page is such a blur of applications (quizzes, hatching eggs, Zombies biting people, etc) it's starting to look like MySpace (oh snap!)
