As recorded, many NIS 2013 customers loathe the Facebook component of the Share feature of the Identity Safe toolbar.
When asked to deliver the more than obvious option for those users who would like to disable the Share feature, in response Symantec made promises that this would become available via an update in the near future. This was back in October 2012.
So far NOTHING has been delivered.
I suspect the delay has its foundation in that Symantec and Facebook have a negotiated arrangement that sees it not so easy for the former to provide an option whereby the later's ability to gather more registrations/users is compromised. The original deal between the two that saw Facebook's inclusion in a security product in the first place was obviously full of promise for Facebook. There's a more than good chance they don't want to see it disappear. I further suspect Symantec aint working that hard at creating the update that'll see that happen.
So Symantec, with artful back rubbing to a minimum, when the hell is the promised disable option going to arrive??
Put it this way, I have 172 days remaining on my 2013 subscription - less than half. Come on - as a paid up customer how long should I and others be expected to wait for something promised a considerable time ago?
