Facebook’s creepy new feature

New Facebook feature shares users location with friends so they can track movements

FACEBOOK has always been open about its attempts to connect the world, although its latest feature might have taken things a little too far.

The new feature called “Nearby Friends” will begin to be rolled out across Australia on both the iOS and Android Facebook apps.

The somewhat creepy feature uses the geolocation technology in smartphones to locate which Facebook friends are in close vicinity to the user.

Once activated, the app sends occasional push notifications to users notifying them of the location of their friends and vice versa.

Just another reason I will never have a farcebook account.
