Fail to complete process at LiveUpdate

Two / three weeks is failing update at Antivirus.

Is time to select another antivirus, probably K..... ?

:-) :-(

If you have been having trouble for that long there seems to be some issue with your installation.

Reinstalling with the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool will give you a fresh install.
Download the tool from www.norton.com/nrnr
If you use Identity Safe be sure to back up your data in the CSV format.
Run the reinstall tool.
Be sure to run LiveUpdate manually, rebooting as necessary until no updates are available.
Reboot once more and see if things are correct again.

Have that just abou five time reinstalled. But after about 3 housrs once again tessl me "you have  Anti spy ware switched out", and iti is not possible "to fix".

:smileymad:

Probably permament problem ...

Quick question, have you run any scans? What were the results?

Thanks

At last total scan (in short time of working Antivirus :-) :-)) are about 48 track cookies found and repaired.

Today is Antivirus once again out of order, and will not scanning.

:smileymad:

Problem is with updates 1 - 8. These are downloaded, but error is arising at installation.

:-)

Delete and reinstall helps, but after few hours (probably at new attempt to update) goes all out of order.

:-(

Process updates --- failed to complete ...

:smileylol::catsad::smileysurprised::smileyfrustrated:

Norton Antivirus is out of order, Live Update works not, will no make any Scan, all is stopped  ...

:-)

But Norton takes 33% of CPU activity.

:-)

Perfect job.

Works not. Probably is time to take K...... :-)

Lasciate la tutta speranza ...

Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'entrate.

  • All hope abandon, ye who enter in.
  • Canto III, line 9
  • Frequently mistranslated as "Abandon hope all ye who enter here", but "all" modifies hope, not those who enter: "ogne speranza" means "all hope".

:smileylol::smileyfrustrated:

Did you ever use Uinstall/reboot/Norton Removal Tool/reboot/Reinstall 20.3.0.36?

Sorry, wrong info posted

After (any of many) RnR it seems few hours as working,

Than (this morning again) goes Antivirus out, with message "YOU have antispy detection switched out" :-) :-) .-).

Than at "Fix" are updates downoloaded (about 101 MB) a and installed (updates 1 to 8). But updatinf is not completed, and Antivirus is switced out, and scans no more.

Try a full uninstall without using the Norton Removal and Re-installation tool:

  1. First back up your ID Safe by going to vault open --> settings --> Export. Choose .csv and type a name in it. Click save.
  2. Download the Norton Removal Tool from www.norton.com/nrt. Download Norton Internet Security 2012 from www.norton.com/nis12. Download Norton Internet Security 2013 from www.norton.com/nis30.
  3. Run the Norton Removal Tool. Reboot the PC afterwards. Install the Norton Internet Security 2013. Once installation is complete, uninstall the program using the add / remove program. This will clean up any mess that Norton Removal Tool fail to remove. Reboot the PC.
  4. Run the Norton Removal Tool. Unlike the first run of the Norton Removal Tool, it shouldn't prompt you to reboot the PC at this stage. It will simply launch a browser window. Close the window and reboot the PC.
  5. Go to C:\ProgramData and delete "Norton" and "NortonInstaller."
  6. Reboot the PC.
  7. Run the Norton Internet Security 2012 installer. Go to settings --> Web --> ID Safe and create a local ID Safe vault. AFTER you have done that, run the Norton Internet Security 2013 installer. Reboot the PC as prompted.
  8. When the PC has rebooted, try importing the backup you created earlier by going to settings --> Web --> Identity Safe --> Import data. Browse to the location you save the .csv file. Click OK.
  9. Run LiveUpdate until it says no update needed. Reboot the PC as prompted.
  10. Launch the program and make sure it's running 20.2.1.22 or later. As of March 6, 2013, Norton is currently holding back the 20.3.0.36 update. This may change in the future.
  11. Once this is confirmed, reboot the PC to remove all the old files (I know that upon engine changes, there usually have two files. One is the old and the other is the new. Only a reboot will get rid of the old file).

RnR I have many time executed.

Today Norton had updates 1 - 9 to make, but not installed. :smileylol:

Once again :smileymad:

Did you follow WLP's suggestions. RnR which only reinstalls is completely different from Norton Removal Tool, which cleans up.

Before moving on, i would advise you to follow WLP suggestions. Other products do also have their own problems.

My version (Norton Antivirus) is not downloadable (only NIS Norton Internet Security, or Try 30 days version).

Hope only, that at end of Ramadan comes my Antivirus programmer back to work, and corrects last version of Upgrades 1 to 8, which to time cannot to be O. K. installed.
