I’ve been having a continual problem for over a week now with accessing any of the Norton support sites from various computers.
I am trying to install Norton Internet Security on 6 computers. I have purchased 2 licences for 3 devices each.
The main problem occurs when the program tries to connect to the Norton Server to activate. It can’t. The communicating with Norton Server starts trying to connect and the fails telling me to retry. (Cannot connect to Norton Server try again later!!!!!!!)
After many attempts I cancel and go through the Help which tests the program and fails with the internet connection. This is despite a perfectly good internet which may be on other sites at the same time without a problem.
I managed to get it to activate eventually after many attempts on a Desktop and a Surface Pro but even now the desktop will not connect to any support, or account site from Norton. All other sites including other Antivirus sites are fine.
I tried a live chat with a Norton rep from my work internet on one of the few days I was able to get to the support site on my next laptop. (Samsung 500T). After getting to the screen to start the session I entering the code as required it failed to connect which may be because of the security on my works internet. Unfortunately I can’t get to the support site at all at home so there is no way of activating that laptop at home or work.
I have installed on a Toshiba laptop but again at home I fails to activate. WHY and WHY is the solution only available from a live link up which isn’t going to happen because I can’t get to the support sites at home or at work.
I’ve tried all the suggested solutions that I have found on the internet. (eg setting iexplorer as default, proxy etc etc….) At work I tried Power eraser but it couldn’t connect so stopped before starting. The whole Norton system of relying on the internet to do anything totally renders the Norton products useless. I appear to have wasted my money and far too much time on a useless product.
Does anyone have a solution to activating a computer that cannot connect to the Norton servers or support sites?
