For the second time in 5 years my system drive's Windows XP Pro operating system became corrupted (hangs on boot). The first time it happened, recovering boot booting the recovery CD and recovering from a restore point went off without a hitch. This time, however, I am having a problem.
I boot the recovery CD, say recover my computer from the latest recovery point, and everything restores fine and the recovered disk is ready to go after an hour of restoring the data. However, when I boot the recovered disk, I get a blue screen, with an error code C0000034 (invalid object name?) shown in the one line stack dump. I tried recovering using both the Norton CD as well as my custom recovery CD that I made for my system. I also tried several of the restore points with the same result. I have tried recovery to 2 different system drives (the current one and an alternate, both of the same model and size).
I am running Norton Ghost 12. Not quite sure what to do now. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
