Every time I open up "My Computer", one of the subsequent folders or IE, a message comes up that says "There are trojan horses in your system, this may lead to destruction of important files in C:/Windows. Click here to download the antispyware."
Now I'm not stupid enough to click the link, because I know its bad.
The Norton bar has popped up at the side of the screen to inform me that something's attacking the computer, and the risk name is "HTTP Fakescan Webpage", and the destination address is spywareadvancedscanner.com.
I've just completed a full system scan and apparently there are no threats!
Is there anything that anybody can suggest to get rid of this?
Thank you.
I just downloaded it, ran the scan completely which came up with no problems and the message still pops up
It worked!
Thank you so much!
:)
Good to hear. Thanx for your feedback
I had the same problem and the last answer from Stu solved.
Thank you tbo-nh for posting your question and thank you Stu for the answer.
Stu: Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I picked up the same nasty trash this morning and the several antispyware, antivirus, and rootkit cleaners I have didn’t do any good. Your link for www.malwarebytes.org saved the day! I wonder why I never heard of this program before.
Try running superantispyware.
You can download it from www.superantispyware.com
