False Positive Dispute/Norton Insight problems

 Hi there, I'll try to briefly describe the problems that are "bugging" me.

 

First of all i am using Norton 360 for more than 2 years . Right now I am using version 5.1.0.29. All of my problems started about two weeks ago so I am pretty sure that the problems started after one of the last updates.

 

  In our office we use a surveying/mapping program called "Verm" the root to my problems is that Norton 360 wrongly detects the file Verm.exe as a high risk virus (Trojan.Gen.2) and deletes the file (the file of course is clean). I have set the file as User Trusted in the Norton Insight menu (also in the Antivirus menu -> in the "scans and risks " tab I have excluded the verm.exe file from Scans & Auto Protection and SONAR detection.) but after 3-4 days for reasons unknown the .exe file is missing again and the "User Trusted Files" tab in Norton insight is blank!!! This has already happened more than 10 times in the last two weeks I keep setting the file as "user trusted" again and again but the problem persists. It's as if for some reason the settings that I apply are reset so verm.exe stops being user trusted thus allowing Norton to kill it without asking me.


  One more problem that keeps bugging me is that Norton keeps scanning my network drives (and of course deleting Verm.exe files on network computers) even though I have set the "scan network drives = OFF". I can’t even set the other Verm.exe files on the network as "user trusted" because Norton doesn’t seem to understand the network path. The only thing I could do was to set the folders where Verm.exe is located as read only so that Norton cannot delete them but still I get the annoying warning that Norton has detected a threat every 15 minutes.
