False Positive? for Khan Academy app on Android M (Nexus 6P)

After the 20160902009 virus definitions update, Norton Mobile Security flags my Khan Academy app as having malware. I think this may be a false positive. Neither Malwarebytes Anti-Malware nor Avast Mobile Security flag the Khan Academy app. This false positive(???) issue occurs on my Nexus 6P phone running Android Marshmallow. The Khan Academy app is available in the Google Play Store. Please investigate and let me know.

Thanks for letting us know. It seems different solutions have worked for different users.

I uninstalled Khan Academy earlier today. I turned my phone off>on at least a couple times today. Finally, I reinstalled Khan Academy this evening and subsequently ran a NMS scan. NMS did NOT find any malware on my phone this time so it appears your uninstall>reinstall suggestion did the trick. Thank you!!

If the problem recurs, I’ll try to remember trying your other suggestion of clearing the NMS data from my phone. Thanks again!!

One other thing to try. User D Evans found here that clearing the NMS app data fixed things.

There have been many false positive reportings over the last few days. Some users have found that reinstalling the app fixed things. Give that a try and let us know if it helped.

Here is the Google Play Store URL to the Khan Academy app for download (to investigate suspected false positive). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.khanacademy.android&hl=en
