Does someone have a suggestion for how to fix this?
My site is still showing a “Warning” rating on Norton Safe Web, and I’d like help getting it reviewed.
Cause: Several weeks ago I self-hosted a large (~32MB) WebAssembly binary (ffmpeg-core.wasm) as part of a video-processing feature. Norton’s crawler flagged it as suspicious — a known false-positive pattern for large opaque binaries on shared hosting. I removed the file and the entire vendor folder containing it the same day.
Since then:
-
The domain has shown clean on Google Safe Browsing throughout (checked repeatedly since the flag first appeared).
-
I submitted a false-positive report through the standard Norton submission form shortly after removing the file.
-
Weeks later, the site report page still shows a “Warning” rating with no update.
The flagged file no longer exists anywhere on the domain, and there’s no malicious content, redirect, or download associated with the site. I’d appreciate a manual review or any guidance on why the automated re-crawl hasn’t cleared the rating.
Thank you
