FamilyOnline.Noton Parental Controls not working

Hello:

Yesterday I installed NIS 2010, and ran LiveUpdate to get the latest versions.  I then setup Parental Controls, which in this version is called FamilyOnline.Norton.  I setup my two children's information, and have certain web sites blocked.  Unfortunately, this feature DOES NOT work.  I have the common Crime, Hate, Pornography, Weapons, even web mail sites blocked.  I also added Sports to be blocked.  I log into the PC using the children's user name and password, and I can still get to sports site and even pornography sites!!!  The PC has been rebooted several times.  I worked via Symantec's Chat online option, and two technicians were unable to solve the problem.  Is there someone that is successfully using this feature?  What did you have to do to get it to work?

Thanks.

Hi mwmw90,

Please try the steps that SendofJive suggested first.  If it doesn't work for you, I would be more than happy to setup a remote desktop access and work together with you on this.  You're welcome to send me a private message or an email for details.  You can find my email address at http://community.norton.com/norton/profile?user.id=15038

Thanks,

Katie

Last week I worked with a Symantec tech and also Katie.  The parental controls does work now.  I am not exactly sure what the problem was, but it began working after the FamilyOnline.Norton program was un-installed and re-installed.  Parental controls seems to be working, and I hope it will continue working when I fine tune and update settings as needed.  Thank you to the other Symantec tech and to Katie for their time working with me on this.
