After receiving latest Norton updates IE stopped working. IE displays messahe box "Internet Explorer has stopped working."

Windows Event Viewer logs show:

Installed latest Windows 7 updates, Norton Live Update, and reset IE setting back to default. No help. Contacted Norton Support:

"Okay, thank you for reporting this. Our engineering team has already identified the issue and they're already investigating on this. It will be fixed soon. Please try again within 24 hours. In the meantime, you can also use another browser."
