FBI MoneyPak Again

My PC got this virus early Oct. 1 and I spent the day trying to get rid of it. It seemed more evil than earlier versions described on the web in that it could halt tools used against it. I tried using safe mode to do a system restore but each attempt crashed no matter the restore date. I tried starting Task Manager in safe mode but the Task Manager window closed as soon as it opened.

Norton was no help. It let the virus in with just a quick warning message. There was no indication on the Norton website that the company was on top of this threat. I used an admin account which was not infected to run Norton full scan with the latest definitiions but it found nothing. I downloaded Norton Power Eraser but it found nothing. Finally at the end of the day I tried MalwareBytes Anti-Malware which some on the web recommend. It found and quarantined the virus in a couple of minutes. So far so good.

I have relied on Norton exclusively for many years and am now very disappointed.
