Feature Request - Identify PUPs

I understand that NIS doesn't consider PUPs to be a threat and therefor ignores them.

To ID PUPs and remove them, I have to use Malware Bytes

So my request is for NIS to scan for, and alert the user to PUPs.

Thanks for the link. I see this topic has come up many times, and I understand that Norton doesn't feel it warrants resources and can't "be everything to everyone".

So, I'll continue to use MWB as a second opinion, but here's another suggestion:

Since Norton and MWB are both major players in the AV industry, I request that the two companies get together and figure out how to make the real time protection feature of both programs "play nice" with each other.

Hi,

I suspect that it's been discussed but - - - we're talking about a binary device and physics. That is 'no two objects may occupy the same space at the same time'. If both products are doing the same job they are going to want to occupy the same spaces. Binary devices have space for a "1" or a "0". Until those facts change I'm going to go with the majority and recommend Noorton as the primary and MBAM as the on-demand free scanner. SAS also has a great complimentary free scanner.

Stay well and surf safe

I have been a faithful Norton Security Deluxe user (5 machines) for years. Yesterday afternoon however has made me re-think about my "protection" and false sense of security. My wife alerted me that her machine kept receiving popups. I checked and was able to close her browser by not clicking on the cancel or exit buttons on the popups but rather closing the browser through task manager. Norton failed to stop the pup's. I installed Malwarebytes and quickly eliminated the problem.

I will not be renewing my subscription with Norton.
